James B Andrews Will

 

I, James B Andrews, of Caroline County and State of Virginia do make this my last will and testament, that is to say, After my just debts are paid, I give and bequeathed to my wife Mary E Andrews all of my property both real and personal so long as she remains my widow.  In case she should marry again, one third of my effects shall be allotted to her, the balance to be equally divided between my children or their heirs.  These are the names of my children: Challonien Kay, Lawrence Herndon Andrews, Nanny B. Edwards, Lucy J. Garrott, Wm. Forest Andrews, Robert F. Andrews, George M. Andrews, Eava M. Andrews, and I do hereby appoint Brother Lawrence B. Andrews my Administrator.  January 22, 1891.

In Caroline County Court November 11, 1895, a writing purporting to be the last will and testament of James B. Andrews, deceased, is this day produced in court, and there being no subscribing witnesses hereto.  There as W. Valentine and C.M. Harris were sworn and severally deposed that they are well acquainted with the testator’s hand writing and verily believe the said handwriting and the name thereto subscribed to be wholly written by the testator’s own hand.  Where upon the said writing is ordered to be recorded as the last will and testament of the said James B. Andrews deceased.
