The Most Challenging and Satisfying Job on Earth ... Raising a Wonderful Family. Solid American Pilgrims - The Andrews Ladies MPR1: - 3 Libby, Katie and Mary Phil was number three of five in the Andrews Clan. Early on he was tagged with "PR" to identify him from his Dad, Phil. Later he dropped the "PR" handle and used Phil. Phil was athletic, smart and handsome. He played varsity football at University of Texas (UT), Austin. He and Mary became a "pair" long before they graduated. They share many, many good years together. Phil received a leg injury while at UT football and this sent him into the USAF Navigator Program versus pilot training. He was a B-52 Navigator for 22 months. The B-52 was subject matter for the movie Dr. Strangelove link with BGen Jack Ripper at Burpleson AFB. If you have not seen this movie, consider yourself "behind" - see it soon! Remember that if you are on Plan 'R' - 'R' for Robert - you cannot communicate on your CRM one-one-four without preceding the message with a correct three-letter identifier. As a B-52 navigator out of Anderson AFB Guam, Phil says "you can have only so much fun at the nav station (very cramped spot with no window to look out) on 30+ hour flights!" Surviving the B-52 tour, Phil was selected for USAF pilot training. After completing the basic pilot training program, he took F-111 training at Luke AFB in Arizona - then stationed at Lakenheath RAFB in the UK. He flew combat sorties from there for strikes against Gaddafi in Libya - and took the long way around the Spanish Peninsula to get there and back. Later he was selected for the F-15E Strike Eagle pilot training program. Phil holds a Master's degree in Business (MBA) and was the Air Staff F-15 budget officer in Disneyland East (aka five-sided puzzle palace or the Pentagon). He held several executive-level management positions. He flew as aircraft commander the semi-glamorous C-130 multi-engine cargo/etc plane. He was a USAF Command Pilot. Phil retired as a Full Bird Colonel with 27 years service. He's been subsonic ever since. Both Mary and Phil are officers in the Stonefield Railroad link and the Cibolo Valley Railroad.
