City of Petesboro
Petesboro is the northernmost large city on the Railroad. On a good day, there are 11,957 permanent residents not including a number of transient train crew and assorted hobos. The City is named for Forrest Wm. Andrews of Decatur, Illinois and later of Lebanon and Salem Oregon, co-creator of the SV General Superintendent. How did anyone get from Forrest Wm. Andrews to "Pete?" Just let it go and say it happened.
There's a very large downtown district behind the businesses located along the tracks but you can see the buildings sticking up. SV has an engine service facility, the SV Accounts and Records Department, Anderson Transfer and Storage, Drywell Inks (a division of Keays Industries), Anne's Country Kitchen, Susquehanna Custom Hardwood Furniture factory, a large passenger station and freight station, both currently open, and the smaller "old station" located just south, now closed. There's a milk platform with twice daily milk can pick ups. Petesboro also has the rail lead to Chico Mills.
